Volunteer Center Aarhus exists to support local social volunteer organisations (those volunteer organisations who help support people experiencing various challenges). Social volunteer organisations here in Aarhus can become members with us by paying a small annual membership fee, which gives them access to various types of support. Our members can book our meeting rooms for their own meetings and events and participate in workshops, courses and events that we arrange, participate in networks with other volunteer organisations and receive individualized guidance from us with such things as volunteer recruitment, fundraising and project development. We also help people who have an idea for a new volunteer organisation to get started. We work to make it easy for individuals to get involved in volunteer organisations, both for people who can use the support of volunteer organisations as well as for people who want to start volunteering.
Appointments with a volunteer community guide
Do you live in the Aarhus area and want to meet new people, find a sense of community with others, become a volunteer or find an offer through an volunteer organisation that meets your needs? Do you find it hard to navigate the many options that exist, or do you experience that it is hard to get started? Then come and have a chat with one of our volunteer community guides who can guide you in the many possibilities in the volunteer organisations in Aarhus as well through the municipality.
Together we will talk about your wishes and we can also guide you regarding what you can expect from taking part in volunteer organisations in Denmark – all at your tempo over one or more meetings. We can help contact organizations as well as accompany you to the organization you would like to participate in to ensure that you feel secure trying something new. Regardless of whether you would like help to contact an organization or to have us accompany you, we will be happy to follow up with you so that we can make sure that you feel like you have found the right organization.
We experience that many internationals in Aarhus find volunteering to be a good way of meeting others and becoming more integrated in society.
